Pawer Pack founder Steven Putzeys began his career at PwC in 2001 during a distinctly transformative time in global business. The meticulous grind, from associate to manager at PwC New York 300 Madison headquarters, on groundbreaking tech engagements produced a formidable assurance & business advisory skillset and knowledge that serves Steven well today.
In depth know-how through due diligence on world class life science companies set Steven on a branching path of advisory work on innovative start-ups.

One such start-up was a Johns Hopkins spin-out with neuroregenerative potential, where Steven co-founded and ran the initial stages, overseeing business strategy, fundraising, operations and building partnerships.
The FastForward incubator in Baltimore provided access to a range of supportive programs, resources and networking opportunities, including a collaboration with the innovative House of Biohealth in Luxembourg.

In the 2010s, Steven combined his passion for fitness and the intense experience of working a 3,000+ hours per year at the highest professional services level in New York City.
This resulted in exercise & nutrition programs (BASE SIX) for urban professionals as well as unique mobile gym units for the fast-growing fitness population.
The exercise hardware and training software were relatively straightforward compared to the nutritional aspects ...

The need for real nutrition, the vital energy source for humans and their pets, has spawned countless ideas and start-ups in recent decades, ranging from the simplest sources available on this planet to highly technological endeavors.
In 2020, Steven founded MicroAlgae Solutions (MAS), a boutique consulting firm, with the vision to develop innovative plant‐based products and to secure strategic sales & production assets.

The seed had been planted earlier that year when Steven had restructured a publicly traded company around the cultivation of a 3 billion year old food source with powerful potential.
The company was pivoting its renewable energy business around a daring $50 million self-powering spirulina production facility in Payra (south of France) with a projected annual 60 ton output.

Spirulina is:
C-phycocyanin:
A superfood with a plethora of benefits for pets and their parents.

The first MAS project was Phyco Blue, a photosynthetic hybrid container and automated sustainable mobile microalgae machine, powered by photosynthesis, CO2 and recyclable water.
Phyco Blue was designed to turn CO2 with minimal waste water volumes into valuable biomass and clean water at industrial, commercial and residential sites that incur CO2 and waste water outputs.

In 2021, MAS partnered with Microalgae Inc. in Canada to acquire a stake and secure the long term purchase rights to the Greek spirulina farm, Maxima, and its Spirulina Supreme brand.
The business strategy MAS developed was to (1) acquire a fully-functioning aquaculture plant, (2) convert it into a spirulina production facility & biorefinery, (3) expand the production capacity and (4) tap into strategic distribution networks.

In the first half of 2022, MAS partnered with MAI to develop a superfood farm in Tanzania, which featured 100 acres of agricultural land with greenhouse infrastructure, fertile soils with ideal year-round climate conditions for microalgae production.
This M&A transaction passed the due diligence phase but was abandoned when MAI failed to secure the required funding.

In 2022, MicroAlgae South Africa was formed and started to convert a fish farm with 300,000 m² of ponds into a microalgae facility. By mid-2023, it became clear that the South African climate was not suited for the production of premium spirulina.
By 2023, MAS found the perfect farm in India, with ideal year-round climate conditions for spirulina production. With an experienced team on site capable of producing spirulina containing 20%+ in phycocyanin at scale, we were now ready to produce something very special.

On a visit to the Carpathian Mountains in 2020, Steven had been struck by the heart-wrenching stray dogs situation that still exists in Eastern Europe, so he decided to do something about it.
Dogs were not intended to be a spirulina target audience, until one day, a newly adopted pup named Bailey made off with a box of spirulina tablets, which the pack gladly devoured.
Soon after, Puremix was born.
