OUR JOURNEY
PawerSnacks and Puremix were founded by Steven Putzeys, out of a pure love for animals.
After leaving behind the hustle of New York City, Steven rediscovered his love for dogs when he rescued his puppy, Zlata, from near death in the Serbian mountains.
It was the end of 2017, and plenty lay in store, as this duo was about to set out on an unforgettable journey they never could have imagined back then
Fitness had always been a key part of Steven’s life and now Zlata was there for every single set. By the time the challenging year of 2020 rolled around, their bond grew stronger and a healthy lifestyle took precedence.
That same year, Steven led the business development of Europe’s largest sustainable spirulina farm, which laid the foundation for Puremix.
In the 2010s, Steven had turned his passion for exercise into a business with New York Torque, a fitness services platform, with online training programs, a book and personal coaching for urbanites looking to adapt healthier ways, as well as mobile fitness containers, designed to provide exercise anywhere for “anybody”, in accordance with the American College of Sports & Medicine’s “gold standard” certifications.
Steven started his career at PwC New York in 2001.
Over the next eight years in the firm’s business advisory and assurance services, he developed a strong skillset and deep expertise on PwC’s influential and high-value clients in the Technology, Information, Communications and Entertainment (TICE) sectors, managing engagements on global tech platforms, leading digital innovators and life sciences companies.
From TICE to Tyson, the PawerSnacks journey really kicked off when Steven and Zlata visited the Carpathian Mountains in Romania in late 2020. What they discovered there was both beautiful and heartbreaking: countless stray dogs struggling to survive.
That moment changed everything and they first adopted Romo and later Tyson, who would become the ambassador and cover model for Puremix.
After that first spirulina farm in France, Steven spent several years and crossed three continents researching and testing spirulina sources—looking for the cleanest, most potent strain with the highest protein and phycocyanin content.
The result is Puremix: a supplement so pure and powerful, it's unmatched in quality—and completely irresistible to dogs.

Puremix goes hand in hand with our dog rescue efforts as both have been clean and rewarding endeavors.
Today, Zlata, with a bit of help from Steven, leads a happy, tail-wagging pack of 36 rescue dogs. Oh—and let’s not forget the 8 cats.

Our vision is to give dogs the nutrition they deserve, and the joy of the longer and healthier lives that comes with it.
Today, we are looking to build on the Puremix product and add complimentary products that align with our vision.
